School Experiences
As a college student I’ve had some good and bad experiences. When I first began attending college, I honestly did not take it seriously. I would buy my books from the bookstore and would barely open them. I may have changed my major 3 or 4 times in the first year. Academic probation was a constant threat. Losing my financial aid should have opened my eyes but it didn’t. My grades were so bad that I was too embarrassed to tell anyone my grade point average. What got my attention was an English course that I had to take. I have never been a fan of that particular subject so I was definitely not looking forward to the assignments. Well as it turned out, I was a really good writer. However, while I usually made good grades on my papers, I still failed the class. One afternoon as I was standing in the registration line, my English professor walked over. She told me that I was a good writer but procrastination kept me from reaching my full potential. I thought back to all of the nights I sat up till three in the morning writing and researching, just to have points taken off for late work. I learned that all of that hard work and effort is pointless if I don’t complete the assignments on time.
